We can all agree that Christmas Holidays and New Years Eve in New York are on our bucket lists! Therefore let’s make sure we don’t miss out on checking these 5 things to do in NYC on our holiday trip! Let’s get to it!
Visit the Rockefeller Center
The Rockefeller Center is one of the most famous spots in the city during the Christmas period. In other words be prepared for the crowds! If skating at Rockefeller center in on your bucket list be ready to wait in a long line or come as soon as they open. It was definitely on my bucket list for as long as I could remember! However seeing the number of people waiting in line for it turned me off so I was satisfied by just being there and watching people skate and feeling the atmosphere of it.
Right next to the skating rink is the Rockefeller Tree. By far one of the most popular Christmas trees in the world! My advice is passing next to it at night time when the light are on and the tree becomes even more spectacular. Taking a picture next to it is not that magical as you might imagine! But it sure is fun to try and take a picture without at least 10 people next to you or in front of you! I would say that this is the second most crowded place in NYC at that time of the year! Right after New Years eve in Times Square.
Watch the Radio City Rockettes (The Christmas Spectacular)
Radio City Rocketts have been performing in Radio City Music Hall since 1932. They are best known for starring in the Radio City Christmas Spectacular, an annual Christmas show. I had the chance to watch them perform, and let me tell you it was the most stunning performance I have ever seen! The way their moves are all synchronized, every tap, every kick and every smile are in perfect timing! It makes you try and search for one mistake to prove that what you see is real.
I was amazed by the fact that they kick up to 1200 times per day! You know that the show is a must see if it has been playing continuously for over 80 years! Plus it still fills up 4 full halls per day! I would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting NYC in the holiday season! Especially if they want to see something special and traditional that will leave them in awe.

Walk the 5th Avenue and look at all the window displays
This is a great idea for a day after spending too much money! If you want to cut it down but still be in the Christmas vibe make sure just to look and not buy! Every store down the 5th Avenue has decorated displays with Christmas decorations. It makes you want to stop and gaze at every single one of them. Just be sure not to stop in the middle of the sidewalk ’cause you might get run over by the crowd!
One of my favorite window displays is the one of Saks, and the inside of it is just as beautiful! For me walking inside the store was harmless because even if I wanted to buy anything I couldn’t afford. Making me safe from spending! Shopping or not it must be on the list of 5 things to do in NYC for Christmas Holidays because the decorations are just beautiful!
The Bryant Park Market
Bryant Park is definitely one of the things to do in NYC for Christmas Holidays. During the holiday season the park is filled with little Holiday Shops housed in little kiosk. They offer local crafts, food and goods from around the world as well as jewelry, sweets and artwork. Therefore there is something for everyone! In the center of the park is also a free admission ice skating rink which is always a great idea. If you’re not an ice skating fan, next to it you can find places to sit and enjoy your apple cider to keep you warm.
Top of The Rock View
Last but not least is the view from Top of The Rock! Now this is a place I couldn’t rave enough about! If I could do one thing from these 5 things to do in NYC for Christmas Holidays this would be the one! It is by far my favorite place in the whole city and I could go there every day and not get bored of it! I spent over 2 hours looking at the view! The only thing that made me leave was the cold Christmas eve temperature and my boyfriend who listened to my “just 5min more” for an hour and just wanted to go and grab a drink somewhere warm.
We entered the building at around 3pm because we wanted to see the sunset from the top. Let me tell you it was the best decision ever! We were able to see the city at day time, sunset time and night time which made it perfect! It is hard to choose which one we liked the most! While you are amazed by seeing it in day time, as soon as the sun starts to set you can’t take your eyes off of it! The cherry on the top is the night time!
Looking at the city from up there feels like looking at a desktop screensaver! You can imagine me going WOW, WOW, WOW everywhere I turned. We chose this view over the Empire State view because from this one you can see the Empire State itself from one side (Which makes the NYC skyline so special) and meanwhile the Central Park from the other side which is just as magnificent.
