I think we are all ready for some beach time this summer! Swimming, tanning, snorkeling and water sports are my favourite things to do in the summer time! But the high temperatures and hot sun is something you need to keep in mind! We don’t want to pass out from dehydration or burn like crabs lol! I decided to share with you my 15 beach bag essentials so that we are always prepared for adventure while protected from the sun & heat!

Bathing suite
Bathing suites, bikinis, swimsuits however you like to call them are of course the most important thing in our beach bag! I don’t know about you but I am one of those girls that loves getting a new bikini! I love being able to choose which one I want depending on how I’m feeling that day! Plus there is no such thing as having too many bikinis!
Since these kinds of purchases can become quite expensive pretty fast, I found the perfect store that gives me the ability to buy more bikinis for a great price! Now I can buy a bikini for around 15$ which means I never buy just one! I have them in all sorts of designs and I LOVE them! Click here to check them out! Towel
We all want a super cute beach towel that will be big enough to lay down comfortably! I will share with you a very similar one to the one I bought in Istanbul – find it here! I bought it in baby blue colour and I love it!
Sunscreen
This is one of the most important things on the beach essentials list! Please don’t avoid using SPF because your skin will remember it and there is no going back! Healthy skin is more important than being tan fast so make sure to get yourself a good SPF for your face and body! After the sunscreen you can get some tanning oil to get the nice golden tan. I prefer spray sunscreen because it’s easier to apply!
Water bottle
Try to avoid buying new plastic water bottles and get yourself one of these! They will keep your drink cold or warm for a longer period of time and you won’t be making any plastic waste! Plus we all know that hydration is the most important thing while being in the sun all day! So stay hydrated beach babes!
Hat
A good hat will keep your head out of the sun, give you some shade, make you look amazing and hide you from unwanted attention if needed! This one is very similar to the one I have and it looks so cute! Plus it looks good in insta photos as well! There is no such thing as a great beach bag without a cute hat in it!
Sunglasses
I have forgotten my sunglasses quite a number of times and it is not fun! Not wearing sunglasses makes you squint your eyes and the wrinkles come sooner than expected! So get yourself a great pair of sunglasses and keep them in your beach bag!
Flip flops/sandals
Of course these are a must while going to the beach. My favourite brand is ipanema and I have been wearing their brand for over 5 years now and I love them! I have both flip flops and sandals that I use everyday in the summer! I use the sandals both for the beach and in the evening when I pair them with a cute dress!
Beach bag
Who doesn’t love a beautiful big beach bag? Having a big bag makes packing your beach essentials easier. You can just throw in whatever you need and not have anything in your hands.
Playing Cards
My favourite card game to play on the beach is UNO! This Waterproof UNO is something you definitely want to have in your beach bag as an essential! You will never be bored on the beach again!
Beach ball
A small beach ball is a must if you are going to the beach with your friends! Playing catch on the beach or in the sea with amazing people is how you create memories for life! Have fun, jump, splash and enjoy your time to the maximum!
Beach dress
Everyone should have at least one lightweight dress to throw on for the beach! These kind of dresses are my favourite! And they don’t have to be only for the beach! Another thing I like is these kimonos or cover ups that you just wrap around. They are great if you just want to go grab an ice cream without walking in your bikini or dressing up. This wouldn’t be a proper beach bag essentials list without a cute dress!
Floaties
If you are planning on relaxing to the maximum while on your vacation make sure to get one of these! And float away into relaxation mode! This is my favourite way to tan (I’m sure it will be yours also)!
Swim mask (goggles)
Isn’t snorkeling the absolute the best way to explore the underwater paradise? I like to take my mask with me everywhere because you never know what you can see and find underwater! Ps. once I found money attached to a sea urchin so now I always keep my eyes wide open while snorkeling! Get your gear here!
Speaker
Put some music on and make your own beach party but make sure to get a waterproof speaker like this one! You don’t want to risk your normal speaker!
Sun Umbrella or a small Tent
Especially if going to the beach with children this is a must! You want to be able to create some shadow if there is no natural one! One of these will be enough. Make sure to anchor it well so that it doesn’t start flying if it becomes windy!

Hi Donatela, Great post! I would personally add that it’s really important to use high factor sun lotion because the sun got so strong and not using high factor sun protection creams can cause a lot of damage to the skin in the long run.
I agree, it is really important because there is more and more skin problems with the sun getting stronger!
Oh I miss the beach! I only have 2 bikinis but that’s because I feel super self-conscious about my body, but I shouldn’t! A bikini body is putting a bikini on it! Goggles are helpful too, especially because I am nearsighted and I got myself prescription goggles so I can see under water.

This is a great list! I’m not a huge beach lover myself as I’m rubbish at sitting still for a long time! If we do go to the beach though my number one essential is a good book to sit and read to pass the time!

Good list. I usually go to Mediterranean and the the sun is blazing hot. Su screen for sure is a MUST. I love the floaties too. It is so nice to soak up the sun while floating around on the sea.
I live on the Mediterranean so I know how crazy hot it can get! We must protect our skin! I agree floties are one of my favourite!!!
Good tips! Although I’m not a beach person, I can’t do without sun lotion oil, sunglasses and a hat in summer. Despite my dark skin I learned a few years ago I can still get sunburn… And a hat is essential for my dark hair as else my brains boil, ha ha!
